Healthy Relationships This information session explores the quality of the relationships in our lives and that of our family member who maybe or have the potential of living in social isolation. We talk about the development of a Social Network which is a group of committed men and women who are in relationship with a person who may be isolated and vulnerable by reason of disability, living arrangement, limited opportunities, or society’s perceptions.
Beyond Graduation
This information session is a workshop for families to start exploring the following topics:
- Begin an exploration and develop a vision of some possibilities for a good life for the young person.
- Deepen an understanding of the young person’s unique strengths and gifts, and how these might be drawn upon to envision and create future opportunities.
- Place young people “at the centre” of the planning for their future, with support from their families.
- Begin to identify resources and who else in the community can support the young person as they plan for and create their future.
- Introduce the “Beyond Graduation” online community and resources available through it.
- Begin the preliminary steps of developing the young person’s action plan, and identify next steps to continue a future plan.
- Connect with peers, share and learn from others’ experiences, and have fun!
