PART TIME Community Connectors/FACILITATORS

PLAN Edmonton (Planned Lifetime Network Advocacy) requires part-time Facilitators approximately 5-10 hours per month to develop support networks for individuals who are socially isolated.

The successful candidates will:

Have strong community connections
Be a resident of Edmonton or surrounding areas
Have good interpersonal and group skills

Getting Busy

With fall fast approaching, our calendar of events is getting more exciting everyday. Check out the upcoming information sessions. These sessions are designed to give families some basic information on the selected topic. Our aim is for you to take away the information and apply it to your personal family situation. If you are looking for additional information or support, we are here to help or just listen to your plan for the future of your family member. Take advantage of this and the opportunity to meet other families dealing with some of the same issues. I have found that in our busy lives and with the aide of technology, meeting and discuss any situation face to face takes a conscious effort on our part. The advantages of making the effort is feeling part of a group, a sense of belonging, not feeling isolated.

Watch for our book launch of the updated Alberta edition of Safe and Secure on October 25, 6:30pm – 9:00pm. Venue to be announced.

New Look!

With the summer heat finally arriving in Edmonton, we are ready to launch our exciting and newly renovated website. It has a new look and promises to be much easier for this non-trechie person (one on the left) to manage. We will be able to post our newsletter to the website, provide a accurate calendar of events and accept online donations. It is exciting to see a project finished. Let us know what you think of the new site. The networks are busy with various activities such as barbeques, vacations, and gathers for coffee/tea, more indoor than out due to the persistent rain and the mosquitoes. In August, Betty and I will start to put together the fall information sessions around Wills & Estate Planning, Healthy Relationship Building and the Registered Disability Savings Plan.
