My Vision
What I want is to connect with friends my age and spend time with them outside of school. I’d like a best friend. You know someone to hang out with, share secrets or talk about the cute boy in our class. I have adults, besides my parents, who like and care about me, but they’re not all connected. Mom and dad have their own circles of support and, by association, so do I. These people, with whom I have relationships, need to be connected in such a way as to give me a network of support. This network would provide me with a foundation from which I could reach out and touch the world. I intend to continue to develop my potential and be given the opportunities to share my gifts, talents and skills with others.
Where I will live come age 18 I have yet to determine. I do know that I will be surrounded by people who care about me and who respect my individuality and my choices. And I will have a network of supportive friends with whom I can share life and, in the process, make choices that will steer the direction of my life. I will be independent of mom and dad, although their input will always matter to me in the life choices I make.
